The mulberry silk 4 piece hair protection and eye mask arrived attractively packaged in a box suitable for giving as a gift, as indeed this was, for my wife. This review is therefore based on her experience of the items as well as mine in the case of the eye mask. What I can say first is that all the pieces are well made with seemingly excellent and invisible stitching and they are attractive with their deep black shade, very slightly shiny as silk is and of course very soft against the skin.When ordering I was a little uncertain what the reference to “access to sleep audio content” might be. In case you are too I can tell you that it is a free trial of a downloadable sleep programme. Looking at the website, it seems you can get a trial of this even without making a purchase of their products. Just to clarify there are no speakers in the eye mask so this is just a marketing issue I believe.The eye mask is shaped on the inside to stop it pressing on the eyelids. It doesn’t have as much of a cutout around the nose as some. For us this is fine and more comfortable than some though it isn’t as perfectly light occluding perhaps. Actually I have yet to come across a sleep mask that is successful at keeping all light out without interfering with breathing through the nose, which this one does not.The strap is elasticated and non adjustable but was comfortable for both me and my wife’s smaller head. Incidentally even though advertised as 100% silk I am not clear that the padding in the eye mask is silk. It is comfortable but not floppy, in order to serve its protective purpose.The other pieces are also well made and equally soft to the touch. My wife uses the hair band while washing and applying her face makeup, and the two smaller pieces are useful for general hair control.At its current price this set isn’t inexpensive even for good quality Mulberry silk and with 4 pieces. My only reservation is that you would really need to want to make use of all 4 components to justify the cost.I will give this set a 4 star rating.
I am so impressed with the quality and feel of these products, they are so soft and when sleeping in the eye mask can barely feel it on my skin it’s so smooth. I am such a light sensitive sleeper and these really create a dark and comfortable sleeping condition. I also have really thin and easy to break hair so the silk hair accessories are so gentle on my hair and I know that wearing them won’t damage my hair. I love the slumbercode sleep accessories and can’t sleep without them now!
